Later Years of Marriage

It is important to look at marriage under an eternal perspective as when a couple are sealed by the power of the priesthood it is seen by the Lord. This also means that the marriage will be changing and improving until departure on this Earth and reunion on the other side of the veil.

Looks will fail and the core values will be challenged. The interdependence of a healthy marriage is an amazing one. If we look at the leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ, we can see that these lovely couples who volunteer their time and finances to spreading the gospel invest in their marriage constantly. This is not done by fancy gifts, but the daily choice to build up your significant other.

More and more we are living longer, thanks to the miracle of modern science and medical practice. But with old age comes a deterioration of physical capacity and sometimes mental capacity. I have said before that I have discovered that there is much of lead in the years that are called golden

(Hinckley, 2002)

As seen by God's mouthpiece on this Earth. We hope to aim to be more Christlike and sensitive to revelation. This will help us continue to tune ourselves into the hands to do God's work on here.

Service towards your companion in your empty nest years is that of one to help keep you humble and move forward. Service reminds us to stay humble and allows us to be Christlike unto our eternal companions.
